Tourists stranded as snow covers Pakistan hill town

Sierra Leone Times (IANS) Sunday 5th February, 2012

Hundreds of tourists were stuck in their vehicles as heavy snowfall blanketed Murree, a hill station near here.

The Murree region in Pakistan's Punjab province has witnessed heavy snowfall.

The vehicles got stuck on the road leading to Murree, reported Geo News.

A good number of tourists reached Murree Thursday to witness snowfall, after the Met office's earlier forecast.

It snowed heavier than expected Saturday causing a gridlock on the roads, forcing tourists to spend the night in the freezing cold.
