Pakistani PM to visit Qatar

Sierra Leone Times (IANS) Sunday 5th February, 2012

Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani will visit Qatar, from where Pakistan hopes to import liquefied natural gas (LNG).

Gilani leaves Monday for a three-day official visit.

The prime minister will hold talks to promote trade and investment ties to add substance to bilateral relations, the Associated Press of Pakistan reported.

Pakistan is facing a severe energy crisis and widespread protests over the lack of electricity.

In July last year, two people were killed and 30 injured in a clash between police and locals upset over acute electricity shortage in a town in Punjab.
