There's currently a stay-at-home order in San Diego County, Calif., because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, so the upcoming Farmers Insurance Open has decided to not permit players to have spouses or other family members on site.
The Farmers Insurance Open is scheduled to take place Jan. 28-31 at Torrey Pines Golf Course outside San Diego.
Players, who have mostly been allowed to have family on site since late last summer, were informed of the new COVID-19 protocols Friday. California continues to struggle with the pandemic, reporting nearly 20,000 new cases Thursday.
In addition, players were told there would not be an area for independent therapists or trainers on site. There will also not be indoor dining, similar to a restriction in place this weekend at The American Express in La Quinta, Calif.
Previously, it had been announced there would not be spectators on site at Torrey Pines for the Farmers Open.
