Iranian president urges refrain from "destructive actions"
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Sunday that the Iranian government is determined to address the economic problems facing the people, urging Iranians to refrain from any "destructive actions."
Speaking to the state-run IRIB news agency in a televised interview, Pezeshkian said the government is "ready to listen to its people."
He also accused the United States and Israel of ordering "rioters" to create instability in Iran following the 12-day war between Israel and Iran last year.
China, Lesotho vow to advance strategic partnership to higher level
Lesotho and China have reaffirmed their commitment to advancing the bilateral strategic partnership to a higher level and making it a model of friendly exchanges and common development between countries with different national conditions and systems, according to a joint press communique released on Sunday.
The communique was issued following talks between Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Lesotho's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations Lejone Mpotjoana in Maseru, Lesotho's capital. Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, visited the southern African country on Saturday and Sunday, during which he met with his counterpart, Mpotjoana.
Cuban FM demands U.S. stop detaining Maduro illegally
Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez on Sunday demanded that the United States stop illegally detaining Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife.
"It has been eight days since the brutal kidnapping of the legitimate president of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro Moros, and his wife Cilia Flores," said Rodriguez on X.
"We demand that the U.S. government put an end to this illegal detention, respect his immunity, stop the judicial and media farce that this trial has turned into and ensure his life and care," he added.
Trump says Cuba should "make a deal, before it is too late"
U.S. President Donald Trump on Sunday suggested Cuba should make a deal with Washington.
"THERE WILL BE NO MORE OIL OR MONEY GOING TO CUBA - ZERO! I strongly suggest they make a deal, BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE," Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social.
"Cuba lived, for many years, on large amounts of OIL and MONEY from Venezuela," Trump said.
