Sarah Nicole Nadler is an American author of young adult fiction and a Human Rights Ambassador for Youth For Human Rights International. She has made her recent new release, SPACE PATROL! available globally by providing free downloadable copies for members of her website--www.sarahnicolenadler.com
Now, Ms. Nadler has partnered with award-winning actor & director of Eeyaa Grand Comedy, Thomas Foday to bring human rights to Freetown, through Foday's charitable organisation: Girls Be Girls - Not Mothers.
Ms. Nadler says, "I am so proud to have partnered with...Thomas Foday to bring human rights to Freetown." Her development of Foday's new website: thomasfoday.com has sparked over 7,000 hits across social media, both in Sierra Leone and the United States.
Collaborating on Girls Be Girls-Not Mothers, Ms. Nadler & Foday co-wrote an article called "Girls, Listen Up":
"If you are alive, and are human, then you have certain rights.
It doesn't matter who you are. If your skin is black as chocolate, or white like sea birds--you are human. When your heart beats, it sounds just like mine. When your eyes close, you dream--just like me.
Human Rights are the most...wonderful thing humans have ever thought of--the idea that no matter what race, tribe, financial situation; man, woman or neither--you have the same rights.
Agreement is an important thing in life. Without agreement, there would be no love, no partnerships, friendships or art. When people agree on something, they make it stronger, more solid and real.
No matter what differences you have, no matter what things are similar--there is at least ONE thing that is the same: we are all human.
Human Rights are an agreement that we will treat everyone the same way. By doing this, we can improve our OWN lives. Because how you treat other people will effect how they treat you!
I believe in human rights. I believe that you were born equal with me--that you have a right to education, to democracy, to food and shelter. I believe it is a violation to torture, enslave, sexually abuse or discriminate against another human being.
I want your rights, my rights and all Mankind to be protected from violations of our Human Rights."
What is next for Foday and Nadler? Ms. Nadler announced 19 December on Facebook, their intention to create a new office space for Girls Be Girls-Not Mothers, funded in part by her fundraising across the United States. The location of the space has yet to be determined, but readers are encouraged to "stay tuned" on social media.
