DAKAR, 26th July, 2024 (WAM) -- The International Charity Organisation (ICO) has announced the launch of charity projects worth AED4 million in Senegal following a visit by a delegation led by Dr. Khaled Al Khaja, ICO Secretary-General, to remote villages and areas.
Dr. Al Khaja extended his gratitude to the UAE Embassy in Senegal for its support, ensuring the success of their mission as part of the UAE's broader humanitarian efforts.
The newly announced projects include drilling 21 wells, building 17 mosques, and establishing five Quran memorisation centres.
Additionally, five integrated charitable complexes, each featuring a well, mosque, and Quran memorisation centre, will be built. Other initiatives include distributing Zakat, providing food to Muslim villages, and handing out copies of the Quran.
